A magnificent route along one of the most spectacular roads in the Oisans region—and that’s saying something! The Route de la Roche was opened in 1902 after a true technical feat. Be careful—the road is dizzying.
À propos : Route panoramique : la route de la Roche
As the first road to Auris-en-Oisans and its hamlets, it was synonymous with progress and improved access. Until 1895, before the road was built, the only way to reach the town was via the “Chemin de la Cheminée,” a steep and difficult path that could only be traveled on foot or by mule.
After the village of L’Armentier-le-Haut, the road opens up to a breathtaking view! Are you afraid of heights? Turn back!
Caution: The road is narrow, and passing other vehicles is difficult in some sections. This route is not recommended for RVs or long vehicles.
