Why It’s so special

Skiing in forests, across mountainsides, down valleys, from the top of the Pic Blanc, through rolling pastureland and even through the mountain on the demanding Piste du Tunnel… or down the 16 km Piste de Sarenne, one of the longest in Europe. When you ski here, you really visit the mountains, experiencing a rarely accessible, unspoiled environment.

The skiing area and Auris

With a number of resorts providing an exceptional range of skiing, the Alpe D’huez Grand Domaine ski really has something for everyone.

Perched at an altitude of 1600 m on the southern slopes of the Grandes Rousses, Auris-en-Oisans is one of the skiing area’s 5 resorts. South-facing and with magnificent views over the Meije and its glaciers, the slopes offer quality skiing throughout the season and a fast link to Alpe d’Huez using the Alpauris chairlift.

As it is linked by ski lifts to Alpe d’Huez, you have over 250 km of slopes for all levels to enjoy. You can explore the Grandes Rousses massif, with its small valleys, summits and special atmosphere.

This enables everyone to take advantage of an internationally-renowned skiing area, whilst enjoying the benefits of a lower-key, family resort. From the Pic Blanc, its highest point at 3,330 m, right down to the snow front in the resort, everyone can indulge in their favourite sport.

Beginners should remember that Auris has its own skiing area featuring 19 runs and 12 ski-lifts, so plenty to fill your days out on the slopes.
