Regardless of your mode of transport, from Bourg-d’Oisans, the route recommended by most sat-navs takes you along an extremely narrow and winding secondary road (D211A).
We strongly advise against taking this route, particularly in winter! We recommend the route via Freney-d’Oisans.
By train
The nearest train station is Grenoble. Remember to book ahead. Don’t forget to book your train in advance, checking any connections you may need beforehand.
In winter, a Transaltitude bus service runs between Grenoble station and the resort of Auris-en-Oisans.
Depending on the time of year, bus or shuttle services are available to take you to the resort of Auris-en-Oisans; at other times, taxi companies in the Oisans region will provide the service (please remember to book in advance).
FREE Shuttle
Le Bourg-d’Oisans – Auris-en-Oisans Resort
During the off-season and in summer, a shuttle taxi (8-seater) runs between the Bourg-d’Oisans coach station and the resort of Auris-en-Oisans. Please remember to book at least 48 hours in advance!
During the off-season (spring and autumn), the shuttle runs on Saturdays, and in summer, it runs every day!
Oisans Shuttle: Hydrélec Museum, Vaujany – Venosc Cable Car via Le Clapier d’Auris
From 5 December to 19 April, the Oisans shuttle runs daily between Venosc and Vaujany (as far as the Hydrelec Museum), via Auris-en-Oisans (the hamlet of Le Clapier, in the valley), Le Bourg-d’Oisans and Allemond.
Please note: it does not serve the higher-altitude hamlets or the resort.

By car or car-pooling
From Grenoble and Le Bourg d’Oisans, the route recommended by most GPS is on an extremely narrow and vertiginous road :
– follow signs for “Les stations de l’Oisans” ;
– once in Bourg d’Oisans, we strongly advise you to follow the signs for Les Deux Alpes / Auris-en-Oisans ;
– then in the village of Le Freney d’Oisans, turn left towards Auris-en-Oisans.
From Briançon:
– follow signs for Grenoble,
– then to Le Freney d’Oisans, turn right up to Auris-en-Oisans.
Consider car-pooling:
with BlaBlaCar or Rezo Pouce or Mov’ici.
By plane
The nearest airport is Grenoble. Find a flight to Grenoble airport.
