“Meet the Shepherd” is a day-long outing led by Alain, a mid-mountain guide.
Follow in the footsteps of thousands of sheep, the shepherds and their dogs, and come experience a day of tranquility, well-being, and mountain harmony in Oisans!
Meet the guide between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. (meeting point and time will be sent the day before, depending on the flock’s location), Approximately a 2-hour hike (one way) with a 300-meter elevation gain to meet shepherds Baptiste and Augustin, their sheep, and their dogs, and share a special moment with them in an exceptional setting.
The Joelette route will be slightly adapted.
This outing is open to people with limited mobility who use a joelette for accessible mountain hiking. A joelette can be borrowed from the Maison des Associations in Besse-en-Oisans in exchange for a €300 security deposit check.
This activity is offered by the Maison des Alpages de l’Isère as part of the “Sorties Alpages” series, which will take place throughout the summer, departing from various villages.
